Game Rules
Overview
Mafia is a social deduction game where players are secretly divided into two teams: the Mafia and the
Villagers. The game alternates between night and day phases until one team wins.
Mafia Game Rules
- Total Players: 6-15 players
- Mafia: Evil players who know each other's identity (1-3 players)
- Villagers: Regular townspeople trying to identify the Mafia
- Doctor: A special villager who can save one person from elimination AND poison
one person during the game (0-1 player)
- Detective: A special villager who can investigate one player's identity each
night (0-1 player)
Game Flow
- Setup Phase:
- Each player receives a secret role card
- Players must keep their roles secret unless eliminated
- Night Phase:
- All players "sleep" (close their eyes)
- Mafia members wake up and choose one player to eliminate
- Doctor wakes up and can choose to save or poison a player
- Detective wakes up and can investigate one player's identity
- Day Phase:
- All players "wake up"
- Night actions results are revealed
- Players discuss and debate who might be the Mafia
- Players vote to eliminate one suspected Mafia member
Special Abilities
- Doctor's Powers:
- Can save one player (including themselves) once per game
- Can poison one player once per game
- Must choose whether to save, poison, or skip each night
- Detective's Power:
- Can investigate one player each night
- Learns whether the investigated player is Mafia or not
Winning Conditions
- Villagers Win: When all Mafia members are eliminated
- Mafia Wins: When the number of Mafia equals or exceeds the number of Villagers
Tips
- Pay attention to player behavior during discussions
- Special roles (Doctor and Detective) should be careful about revealing their identity
- Use voting strategically - sometimes not voting might be the best strategy
- Mafia members should try to blend in with villagers during discussions
